My Early Christmas Gift to Me from Mother Africa

October 2016
Cape Town, South Africa

We went to one of the Saturday markets in Cape Town where they sell all types of delicious foods, unique threads, crafts and jewelry. This would be the perfect place to find that special something to take back with me the States.

When I travel, I look for necklaces, rings or scarves. They’re ideal due to weight and space for travel. It’s functional, somewhat, and when I wear it, I think back to my trip and the stories.

That’s when I saw her. She wasn’t overpriced, but she was rich with the culture I wanted to show. Mother Africa! Even though they offered the shape filled out, I preferred the understated version.

Of all the things I’ve bought myself, this was one of my favorites because of what it means to me and the time in my life it represents.

I think I may have found someone that sells this in the States. Sit tight, I’ll have it in my favorites page soon!

Have a merry Christmas! Get ready to crush the new year!

‘Til Next, Elisa
